Hi everyone! Thanks for joining me today. Scor-Pal has a new challenge for April, Monochromatic. Now you don't have to make a project, a card is good too, it just has to be one color family.
Here is my project. I made a tea bag holder similar to an accordian file folder holder.
The size of my tea holder is 3" x 4".
To begin, cut two pieces of chip board 3" x 4", cover with a piece of designer paper, here I used a dark brown paper. Cover the inside of the two pieces of
chip board with matching designer paper.
Next, the accordion piece on the bottom, it is made from a piece of card stock 2 3/4" x 1 3/4", score every 1/2" with the 1 3/4" side on the top fence, turn the paper over and score with the 1 3/4" side on the top fence again, every 1/2". This will create a mountain and valley score pattern. Attach this to the bottom of the two pieces of covered chip board.
Now we will create the envelopes for the inside. Using vellum, cut four pieces 6" x 4 1/2". With the 6" side along the top fence, score at 1 1/2" and 4 1/4". Turn the paper so that the 4 1/2" side is along the top fence, score at 1 1/4". Like below.
Next, cut the corner, as shown to create the envelope and attach 1/4" Scor-Tape as shown.
Close the bottom flap up and adhere the sides. Cut a 1" circle on the top of the envelope to create a notch. Create four and attach them together with a strip of Scor-Tape down the center. Attach the chip board pieces to the front and back and decorate as you wish.
For my decoration I made a rosette. I cut a piece of designer paper 1" x 12" and scored every 1/2" mountain and valley style. I also used Heart Swirl die from Magnolia Doohickey.
I hope you enjoyed my project today, I had lots of fun creating it!
