One Stop Card Challenge - June 12th

I'm back in the saddle again!!  I'm finally back from vacation and could not wait to make a card.  We had a good time but the plane ride back to Colorado was a little rough.  Yes, I was one of those mom's trying to quiet her little girl who would not take a nap before leaving so she was tired and crabby!  Needless to say it was a very long flight and by the time we touched down, the exact moment actually, Katie finally fell asleep. 

Onto today's card.  My Design Team colleague Chrissie made this wonderful sketch for challenge #83 over at One Stop Craft Challenge.  I would love for you to play along and make your own card using this great sketch.   

Card recipe:

Cardstock and Design paper from CTMH, sentiment is from SU.  I used my sewing machine to stitch around the paper and my image is from hÄnglar & stÄnglar - Berry Girl.  I used copics to color with.  The embellishments are from my stash, the crystal picks are from Michaels and I can't remember where I got the flowers (sorry!).  Here are the copics that I used to color with:  Y23, E00, R0000, R20, R11, E31, Y21, E21, G12, G0000, E33, E53.

Here is a peak at the inside.  I left it blank this time so I could use it for just about anything.

Miss You

   

 Hi everyone!  Hope you are having a wonderful day.  I received some not so good news today, but all in all I had a pretty good day.  My day started out by going to an eye doctor appointment and it was confirmed that I have glaucoma.  I suspected that would be the case, it runs in my family and my sister has it also.  The good news is that it is not really bad yet so I am starting treatment now and hopefully it will help.  I just feel so young to have glaucoma already, (I'm 42).  After my appointment my husband and I went to lunch (without the kids) and then went to look at furniture for Katie's big girl room.  I found a few sets that I liked, now I just have to decide which one!  I also had a chance to make a card today, which is always a good thing!

So this time I made an easel card using Tilda with cat.  Design Papers that I used are Kaiser Craft and Susan Winget.  I really like the country old fashion feel to the Susan Winget paper.  Kind of reminds me of my grandmother, although she really didn't like cats, LOL!

Summer Traditions

Hi everyone!! I'm still on vacation but I'm having major withdrawals from blogging and making cards! We have had such a wonderful time in Michigan. Still planning to go to Greenfield Village and tonight we are going to see my best friend's son play soccer. Although we are having fun I'm ready to get home and back to our regular routine.

I made this card before we left but I'm posting now. It was my entry to Magnolia Ink contest. I haven't heard anything about it so I thought I would go ahead and post it. Such a summery card. Our family tradition in the summer was to go "up north" and spend most of the summer by the lake. I really loved going and catching frogs, going water skiing, and for long walks in the woods. I miss the good ole days.
The dock, grass and flowers are masked together and Tilda is attached with pop dots. I went pretty slim on the embellishments but I like the way it turned out. Sorry I didn't post the copics used.

Exciting News!!

Hello everyone! I just wanted to share some good news with you. I have been chosen to be on the One Stop Craft Challenge design team!! Boy, I couldn't be more excited and honored! I sure hope I don't disappoint!

On another note I just wanted to let ya'll know that I'm on vacation until June 7th so I won't be able to post anything until then. I can't wait to get home and start creating cards again! It truly is my therapy and I love doing it.

Teddy and Me

Glad to see you again! Today's post is a card made with Gillian Roberts new stamp Teddy & Me. I really like this stamp, it reminds me of my little girl and her teddy (which actually is a froggy!). Design paper is from CTMH. I stiched around my base mat with my sewing maching. I punched the border with a Martha Stewart punch. Flowers are prima and Jolee.

Hanglar - Ladybug

Ladybug, Ladybug, Fly Away Home......There is just something about ladybugs that makes me joyful. Maybe it's the whole symbolism thing, ya know, good luck. Or maybe I just like to watch them fly from place to place doing their ladybug business.

This picture really doesn't do this card justice. It looks much better in person. DPs are from Best Occassions. I cut the flowering tree with my cricut. The pink rose is from Magnolia.
