Now...onto my project...
One last project for Halloween...whew...finally! Not that I don't absolutely love Halloween, but I'm a bit tired of making cards and projects for it! Anyway...I made this apothecary jar for Josh's teacher. The black is all vinyl that I cut with the October 31st cartridge from Circut. The image on the card is a Yummy Frogs from Pink Cat Studio. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the spider web under the card.

Yes, I know it's only October but by now, in Colorado, we usually have had our first major snow storm. The mountains have received a bit of snow already...Pikes Peak finally has snow on it again. I just love seeing the snow up there! This week at Cute Card Thursday the theme is "So Transparent", create a clear card or use a transparent element.

OK, last post of the day...really. This luminary was made for the challenge at Stamptacular Sunday Challenge. Our challenge was to something other than a card! Well I have to say, I just love making "non-card" items! I chose to make this luminary, and it was really quite easy. I found the tutorial for it here. I made a few alternations to turn it into a luminary.
For my images, I used a technique that my awesome Stampin' Up demonstrator Lisa taught me. It is called "stained glass". First you stamp your image on vellum with black ink and emboss it with clear embossing powder, then on the backside you color your image! Easy! I used my Stampin' Up markers because I thought they looked better on the vellum. I then cut out my images and glue dotted them to my shimmery cloth like paper.
The designer paper is from Cosmo Cricket. I used garland ribbon from Michaels for my tyes, flower are from WOC and snowflakes are K & Company. The border on the top is a Martha Stewart punch. I have to say I am quickly becoming a Martha Stewart punch junkie!

Time for another challenge at 7 Kids Challenge Blog. It's Manuela's turn and her challenge is to use Layers and Flowers on your card! This week's prize is a $20 gift certificate to use toward the purchase of the new Zva Creative Flowers. Tab an awesome variety at 7 Kids College Fund.
I used Tilda with Cherries, however I made the cherries into blueberries!! I really wanted to use these designer papers from K & Company. She is stamped on Neenah Super Smooth paper and stamp with Memento Black Ink. I paper pieced her dress to match the designer paper and colored her using copic sketch markers.
Hair: E41, E42, E43, E44
Skin: E00, E21
Socks and Berries: B95, B97
Shoes and Basket: E31, E33, E35
I didn't have any jewels that matched so I colored clear jewels with B97 to match my designer paper. It's pretty easy to do, just color, wait for them to dry for a few minutes and then place them on your project!! I also colored my sprig of "berries" in the flowers with B97.
Thanks for dropping by today!

Good morning everyone. Sorry my post is late! This week at Cute Card Thursday we want you to make your own embellishments!! All my embellishments are made from muslin. My Christmas card doubles as an ornament for the receiver! How cute is that?
Here is what the ornament looks like. I finished off the back also but didn't take a picture of it.

Hello everyone! It was my turn to come up with a sketch at Sunday Sketch and Stamp. Here is my sketch:
Fall absolutely has to be my favorite time of year. I love pumpkins, apples, fall leaves, the chilly weather! Oh, by the way, it is 35 degrees this morning!! I also love all of the cooking opportunities that comes with fall. I don't know about you, but in the summer, I just don't feel like cooking a lot. I especially hate putting the oven on when it is hot outside! Apple butter, apple sauce, pumpkin pie, chilli, beef stew...yum! I would love for you to share some of your fall recipes with me. You can e-mail me your recipe and I'll post them on my blog. I will have a special prize for the one that I like the most!! The prize will be Apple Tilda! Like the one I used for my card. Here is my e-mail address: firstname.lastname@example.org .
OK, here is my card. I used Apple Tilda and Apple Basket from the Travel and School Collection. The images are, of course, stamped on Neenah Super Smooth paper and stamp with Memento Black Ink. The designer paper is from K & Company and flowers are WOC.
I'll be back later to update with the list of copics that I used.
Have a wonderful crisp fall day!
